The Rice Lake Senior Center and Dining Site Gets Some Updates!

The Rice Lake Senior Center, located on 12 Humbird Street in Rice Lake, has been undergoing many building updates this spring.  These updates are not only aesthetically eye-catching, but allow the spaces to be more ADA compliant, safe, and accessible for older adults and people with disabilities.  The list of updates include: new spacious and ADA-compliant bathrooms, leveled flooring and corridors throughout the building, new vinyl plank flooring, ADA accessible entrance doorways, new interior oak doors, fresh paint throughout the building, a large adjoining opening between the dining room and stage room, new lights, more storage space, and new kitchen countertops.

This year also marks the 50^th year since the Barron County Senior Nutrition Program served our first senior dining meals.  Because the Rice Lake Senior Center was our first congregate dining site we are partnering with them to hold an open house to celebrate all the new renovations done to the building and to celebrate 50^th years of serving older adults nutritious meals.
